1923 Season 2 Episode 4’s shock twist throws the Dutton family tree into question once again
Taylor Sheridan just proved that nobody knows anything for certain when it comes to theDutton family tree, all thanks to a huge reveal in1923 Season 2 Episode 4. (Warning:spoilersahead!)
1923 Season 2 had a big task ahead of it. There were multiple parts of the Dutton family legacy that fans wanted background on, from the Train Station to the identity of John Dutton III’s grandparents.
Well, we seemed to get an answer for the former in the Season 2 premiere, with Alex revealing thatshe was pregnantwith Spencer’s child. Since she was the only pregnant character, many believed this was confirmation that she and Spencer were the future of the family name.
However, Episode 4 might have just changed everything, and opened the door for a whole new era of Dutton family drama.
Liz is pregnant again in 1923 Season 2 Episode 4
Yes, you read that right: it’s revealed that Liz is pregnant again in the newest episode of theYellowstone prequel series.
Liz was pregnant in Season 1, but it was later revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage. However, after getting hit by a wave of pain in the new episode while receiving a rabies shot, Cara calls for a doctor, and he confirms that Liz has become pregnant once again.
It’s a joyous moment for the Dutton family, who have so far suffered through a long and horrible winter. It’s also a moment of hope for Liz, who came very close to abandoning the Duttons and returning home to her family in Boston.
However, this does throw the Dutton lineage into question once again. Who are the paternal grandparents of John Dutton III (Kevin Costner)? Once again, it could be either Spencer and Alex or Jack and Liz.

While fans will certainly hope to get answers before the end of this season, it’s possible Taylor Sheridan may be laying the groundwork for his upcoming prequel series1944.
Either way, there are now two pregnant women in the Dutton family. Once again, the fate of the cattle ranching family hangs in the balance of what comes next.
