In an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter, Sarnoski spoke about how the ending sets up a sequel. The writer/director highlights the island’s appearance inA Quiet Place IIas a potential linking element, and while he does not describe any specific plans,Sarnoski believes that a sequel could happensometime in the future. I mean, definitely a good portion of those people probably ended up on the island that we see in Part Two of A Quiet Place. I think there’s a good chance that they’re there, and definitely there’s a good chance we’re going to see them again. I just think they did an incredible job. And I think Paramount would be really happy to see where they ended up. I don’t think there are any super-specific plans. But I would not be surprised if that happens. So that’s a very loose, unofficial sequel tease.

Its Early Box Office Success Nearly Guarantees A Follow-Up
Even before Sarnoski discussed a potential sequel, a follow-up toA Quiet Place’s prequel was inevitable. Whether it happens to beA Quiet Place IIIor aQuiet Place: Day Two,the early incredible success ofDay Onemakes it extremely likely. The reviews have been positive, as it sits at an 84% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, a 73% audience score, and a B+ from CinemaScore. Those are extremely positive totals for a horror movie, even if they fail to match the original’s 96% Tomatometer score and 83% audience score. Thebox office totals forDay Onehave also already been excellent. The prequel has earned $22.5 million on its opening day and is expected to earn $53 million for its opening weekend.That marks the best start in franchise history, with the first day already far surpassing the previous record of $19.3 million from the 2021 sequel, and it is ready to capitalize in the coming weeks. Even against stiff competition fromInside Out 2, which is fighting for the No. 1 spot, Nyong’o’s latest hit is still performing incredibly well.

After Sam sacrifices herself to save Eric, he is able to reach the island safely, where he can work to redevelop society in the wake of the invasion. He can serve alongside Djimon Hounsou’s Henri to help launch an offensive against the Death Angels, and in the process, honor Sam’s memory. Sam may be dead, but, ifA Quiet Place: Day Oneever getsa follow-up story, her legacy is not over.
