Apple TV+ has an unfortunate reputation: it produces consistently great series and movies, but they don’t always get the attention they deserve. For example,Severanceis arguably better than everyNetflix thriller.

We’re in the age ofstreaming services. That means there are countlessnew moviesandnew TV showsyou want to watch every month – and if you’ve seen the2025 TV show calendar, you’ll know there area lotof amazing series still to come this year.
Apple TV+ deserves your attention. So, stop endlessly scrolling through its home screen and start watching any of these TV series.

12. Ted Lasso
What it’s about:Ted Lasso, a happy-go-lucky college football coach, is hired to manage an English soccer team, with the hope that his lack of experience will lead to its downfall. However, it turns out that AFC Richmond just needed to do things the Lasso Way.Why we like it:If football (or soccer, as Ted calls it) is your thing, then Ted Lasso is one show that’s going to be your cup of tea. However, a knowledge of the beautiful game is far from essential when it comes to enjoying this feel-good dramedy. The show wrapped up pretty nicely, butTed Lasso Season 4is in development, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for AFC Richmond and its unorthodox coach.

What it’s about:In a ruined and toxic future, thousands live in a giant silo deep underground. After its sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette starts to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo.
Why we like it:Apple has a real knack for producing tense, taut thrillers, and Silo very much falls into that category, with production values rivaling thebest sci-fi movies. In a dystopian future, an underground community fights for survival as the world above threatens to wipe out humanity for good. Rebecca Ferguson stars here, and she’s brilliant as always – and Season 2 finished in January, so you’ve got plenty of time to catch up before Season 3.

10. For All Mankind
What it’s about:In an alternative version of 1969, the Soviet Union beats the United States to the Moon, and the space race continues for decades with still grander challenges and goals.
Why we like it:There’s a lot of great sci-fi goodness among shows on Apple TV+, and For All Mankind is one of the most fascinating, yet accessible of them all. What would have happened if Russia had won the space race? That’s the question posed by this story of an alternate history. For All Mankind Season 5is also on the way, so stop wasting time and start your binge.

9. Foundation
What it’s about:Based on Isaac Asimov’s extraordinary novels, Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization.
Why we like it:If you prefer your space stories a little more complex, then look no further than Foundation. It’ll hurt your brain (no surprise, given the source material), but it’s damn good television, and it has a killer cast. Season 3 has just kicked off, so you’ve still got time to catch up.

8. Dickinson
What it’s about:Set in the 19th century, this coming-of-age story follows Emily Dickinson, a rebellious young poet who becomes the unexpected hero for the millennial generation.
7. Presumed Innocent
What it’s about:A horrific murder upends the Chicago prosecuting attorney’s office when one of its own is suspected of the crime, leaving the accused fighting to keep his family together.
Why we like it:First of all, Jake Gyllenhaal does not do television, so the fact he signed on for this one should be enough to entice you in. Then, when you realize it’s a remake of the Harrison Ford movie from the ’90s, Presumed Innocent should shoot to the top of your watchlist (the fact there is aPresumed Innocent Season 2on the way has us even more intrigued).
6. Murderbot
What it’s about:Based on ‘The Murderbot Diaries’ by Martha Wells, Murderbot follows a sentient security android who would just rather be left alone to binge soap operas.
Why we like it:Instead of the ‘sentient AI wants to kill you’ trope, Skarsgård’s titular android has no lofty ambitions; he’s socially awkward, snarky, and all too relatable. It’s heartfelt yet genuinely funny, so if you love sci-fi, satire, and dark humor, then Murderbot is the Apple TV+ show for you.
Season 2 has been confirmed, so there’s plenty of time to check out this underrated hit before it returns.

5. Masters of the Air
What it’s about:The third installment in Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks WW2 ‘trilogy’, Masters of the Air chronicles the heroic, tragic exploits of the 8th Air Force; more specifically, the ‘Bloody Hundredth’, a bomb group that suffered unimaginable losses as it carried out daytime bombings over Nazi Germany.
Why we like it:Masters of the Airisn’t just the most ambitious spectacle put to the small screen: it’s an overwhelmingly moving ode to the brothers of the skies, and – just like Band of Brothers and The Pacific – another landmark in television. It’s as impeccable as a tribute to the sky-faring majesty, tragedy, and heart of the Bloody Hundredth could ever be.

4. Shrinking
What it’s about:Jimmy is struggling to grieve the loss of his wife while being a dad, friend, and therapist. He decides to try a new approach with everyone in his path.
Why we like it:Apple may be better known for twisted sci-fi stories, but it does dramedies well, too. Shrinking offers genuine laugh-out-loud moments, with a great mix of slapstick comedy and witty one-liners. It’s a nice, light watch, but it can also pull on your heartstrings, too. We can’t wait for the third season.
3. The Studio
What it’s about:Created by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, The Studio follows Matt Remick, the well-meaning but out-of-his-depth head of a Hollywood movie studio.
Why we like it:Self-aware and delightfully cringe-inducing, this razor-sharp comedy puts Hollywood in the crosshairs and never even blinks. With insider jokes galore and a slew of top-notch cameos, whether you’re a movie buff or a fan of workplace comedies like The Office and 30 Rock, there’s so much here to enjoy.
It’s one of (if not the) funniest shows of the year, and Season 2 is officially on the way.
2. Slow Horses
What it’s about:The story sees a group of MI5 rejects whose careers should be over. But, in a twist of fate, their dull admin work leads them to investigate some of the biggest threats facing the country.
Why we like it:AlthoughSlow Horsesis still one of Apple’s best-kept secrets, more and more are catching on to just how damn good this show is – it’s near-perfect TV. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a clever spy thriller with more than a hint of dry wit, and it’s led by none other than Gary Oldman!
Season 5 arrives on Jul 27, 2025, and Seasons 6 and 7 have also been greenlit, so get watching!
1. Severance
What it’s about:Mark leads a team of employees at Lumon, a mysterious company where workers’ memories are surgically divided between their work and personal lives. As both the “innies” and the “outies” dig deeper, they uncover sinister secrets.
Why we like it:Severance is undeniably the best TV show on Apple TV+. It has a palpable obsessiveness – both in its intricate, beguiling design and how it makes you feel. Season 2 has wrapped up withSeason 3on the way, and inour review of S2, we called it “generational TV in the making” that may “belong in the highest echelon of television” if it sticks the landing – and it did.
