While they have all been previously announced, they include the currently untitledInsidious 6as well asthe first sequels to the recent Blumhouse hitsM3GAN,The Black Phone, andFive Nights at Freddy’s.

While 2024’s critical reception could improve with the release of the James McAvoy-led remakeSpeak No Evil,Blumhousehas a solid chance at a much better Rotten Tomatoes track record in 2025.

As is the case with many production companies in 2024, the year’sBlumhouse movieslate is somewhat thinner than usual in the wake of the dual 2023 strikes, in which writers and then actors took to the picket lines to fight for fair pay. This led to delays for Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild productions with very few exceptions. However,Blumhouse has still had some box office hits in 2024so far, though they have yet to put out a movie with a strong critical reception on Rotten Tomatoes. 2024 has seen an entire slate of originals that has so far been performing well. However, the amount of franchise titles that are set to premiere in 2025 willlikely boost the company’s box office prospects considerably. In addition to the titles that Blum mentioned in his post, the company is also set to release Leigh Whannell’sThe Wolf Manreboot in 2025, meaning that five major horror franchises will be returning throughout the year thanks to Blumhouse.

Blumhouse’s original movies in 2025 will include Jaume Collet-Serra’sThe Woman in the Yardand Christopher Landon’sDrop.
