What DC Comics James Gunn Is Using To Inspire His Superman Movie

However, Gunn has made it clear that hisSupermanfilm will not be serving as a direct adaptation of the critically acclaimed storyline. When revealing the initial slate for Chapter 1, “Gods and Monsters,” and some of the comics that they are looking at,Gunnsaid,“That doesn’t mean we’re adapting all these comics, but that the feel, the look, or the tone of them are touchstones for our team.”
Without having gone into too much detail about it, Gunn has teased that books likeKingdom Come, andSuperman For All Seasonare also inspiring the larger tone of the film. It will definitely be interesting to see if Gunn’sSupermanmovie will have any specific nods to the comics that he has mentioned. Based on James Gunn’s prior statements, it wouldn’t be shocking if there were maybe at least a few panels that are brought to life from page to screen. Hopefully, asSupermanfinishes production this summer, it won’t be too long until the world gets the first trailer for the film.
