Team GO Rocket leader Sierra returns in June 2024 to provide a challenge for even the most experienced Trainers inPokémon GO. Sierra’s varied team offers one of the toughest tests inPokémon GO,and you need to pick a team that will be super-effective against her if you want a chance at victory. Once again, Sierra will choose three out of seven Pokémon in each battle for June 2024. Many new features are being added this summer, but Team GO Rocket Leader battles remain unchanged.
Sierra’s team consists mostly of Shadow Pokémon, making them even harder to defeat. You will need to beat Sierra and fellow leaders Arlo and Cliff if you want to take onTeam GO Boss Giovanni in June 2024.You can find Sierra in Balloons and PokéStopsafter defeating six Rocket Grunts. One of the possible Grunts is Ke Ke Ke Ke, who can prove especially tricky due to her Ghost-type Pokémon. Each Grunt you defeat rewards you with one part of the Rocket Radar needed to face a Leader.

Sierra’s Team For June 2024 in Pokémon GO
An Unchanged Line-Up
Sierra has not changed the team she used for the past two months, soshe will start with Ground-type Shadow Trapinch again. She will always start with Trapinch, but it isn’t one of the strongest lead Pokémon you will have to face acrossPokemon GO. Sierra’s remaining two Pokémon will be chosen randomly, both out of three options.
Her possible second Pokémon will be either Dark- and Ghost-typeSableye, Dark- and Flying-typeHonchkrow,or Water-typeMilotic.Her final choice will come from the same three options as last month: either Dark- and Fire-typeHoundoom,Grass- and Poison-typeVictreebel,or Psychic-typeAlakazam. However, all three of her final choice Pokémon are extremely tough to beat and should be prepared for.

Best Pokémon GO Counters For Sierra In June 2024
Strong Dark-types Can Dominate Sierra’s Team
Sierra is the hardest of the three Team GO Rocket Leadersthis month, as it is impossible to select three Pokémon that are super-effective against all seven of her possible line-ups. This means it is vital to use strong all-around Pokémon that can overpower Sierra’s team, which has few weaknesses.
The only thing for sure in Sierra’s team is that she will start with Trapinch, so you should lead with a Pokémon that is super-effective against it. Thankfully, it hasmultiple weaknesses to Water-, Grass- and Ice- type attacks. If you start with a strong Ice-type, such asPokémon GO’s Mamoswine, it will be able to make light work of Trapinch and be super-effective against Hounchkrow and Victreebel.
Tyranitar is a fantastic all-rounder to use against Sierra.
Pokémon GO’s Tyranitaris one of the strongest Pokémon and can prove very useful here. Due to beingable to learn the powerful Dark-type attacks,it is super-effective against Honchkrow, Houndoom, and Alakazam. The latter is the toughest of Sierra’s Pokémon this month due to only being weak to Bug-, Ghost- or Dark-type attacks.
The two Pokémon that Mamoswine and Tyranitar aren’t super-effective against are Sableye and Milotic. Water-type Milotic can be overpowered by many Pokémon, but Sableye is challenging due to its rare Dark- and Ghost-type.
The only type of move that issuper-effective against Sableye is Fairy-type attacks, with the strongest Pokémon that can learn them being Togekiss. The Generation 2 Pokémon is also resistant to many common attack types, so it can slow Sierra down, allowing you to switch to one of your other Pokémon if needed.
Alternative Pokémon To Defeat Sierra
Electric & Grass-types Are Also Effective
Sierra has the most formidable line-up of all the leaders in May 2024, and you may need to change your team depending on which three she selects. The only Pokémon that the above line-up isn’t super-effective against is Milotic.
Milotic is only weak against Grass- or Electric-types, so using a Pokémon with one of these types of moves can give you control of the battle if it is causing you problems. Magnezone is one of the strongest Electric-types inPokémon GO so thatit can be switched to Togekiss, depending on Sierra’s lineup.
Another good option when facing Sierra is aPsychic-type Mewtwo. The Generation 1 mythical Pokémon remains one of thestrongest PokémoninPokémon GOand has a type advantage over Victreebel. More importantly, due to its high attack, it can dominate any of her team that doesn’t resist Psychic-type attacks. However, it would be best if you were wary that Mewtwo is weak against two of Sierra’s possible Pokémon.

As soon as the battle has ended, you will geta chance tocatch a Shadow Trapinch.You will also be able to add a rare 12km Red Eggto your bag, which has the potential to hatch into some of the rarest Pokémon in the game, as long as you have space in your inventory.
You will also receive 1,000 Stardust, which is vital for maxing out the stats of your best Pokémon. On top of all this, you will get two more items at random, including Max Revives, Max Potions, and Incenses. Sierras' line-up in June is one of the toughest versions that Trainers can face, but she can be defeated using the right counters inPokémon GO.
