Like many other Bethesda titles,Fallout 76has a hard limit to how many items your character can carry, with no real option to increase your stash space. As you play for longer and longer, the amount of items you collect throughout your journey will pile up and inevitably encumber your character. Thankfully, some organizational tricks can help you lighten the load and open up more room for storage.
Every individual item you obtain has a Weight that is added to your character when you pick it up. The Stash is an alternate storage space kept at your C.A.M.P., acting as an extra inventory. Even with thechanges from theSkyline Valleyupdate, you only have1200 lbs of items in your Stash at a time, limiting how much junk from your travels you can put away.

Lower Item Weights And Scrap Useless Junk
Although you cannot increase the max Weight limit of your Stash, you cansell items you no longer needandreduce the Weight of various objectsin the game. Little items, such as gunpowder or unsmelted ore, can add up quickly if you aren’t paying attention to how it builds up in your Stash. Scrap whatever you don’t need or sell useless items if they don’t contribute to something useful around your base anymore.
Some of the most common items that can add up in your Stash are the parts from creatures, like the eggs ofRadtoads inFallout 76. While some junk items have small uses, don’t hesitate to get rid of them if they are no more than clutter.
Once you build up your base, you’re able to throw away many of the extra materials left over from building it as well. This will open up room in your Stash to store more items, especially extra weapons and armor your character collects. One trick is tocraft throwing knives from the leftover Steel, then scrap themto earn more XP and around half the Steel used. You should also try toget rid of duplicateitems whenever you can to conserve space.
Item Weight can also be reduced when youinvest in certain perk cards for your character. For example, the Traveling Pharmacy perk you can get as early as Level 3 reduces the Weight of all chems and stimpacks you gather during your journey. Specific perk cards you unlock as your character levels up can be equipped as upgrades to artificially increase your Stash space inFallout 76.
There are other Perks you can use that might help expand your inventory. However, many of them are unlocked at different levels.

How To Manage Your Inventory
Much likeweapons inFallout 4, some are not as useful and could take up too much weight. If you have any weapons that are replaceable, duplicate, or from the early hours ofFallout 76, it would be wise to scrap or sell these weapons. If there is a particular weapon you like, you may fully repair it and make better use of duplicates.
Similarly, since you will always be leveling up,if you come across a better version of the same weapon or ammo type, it will be beneficial to get rid of the older weapon to conserve weight and inventory space.
Taking the time to create astrong Power Armor buildfor your character will also reduce the total Weight of items gathered. Pocketed Armor adds 5 lbs to your inventory, giving you more room to store items personally than in your Stash.
