Summary
An inventive new trick inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomhas proved to be a hilarious way to handle combat, even being able to defeat some of the game’shardest enemies.TOTKis a game that is extremely well-suited to encouraging creativity to solve its challenges, especially with the immense range of possibilities presented by the Fuse and Ultrahand mechanics. Of course, fans were quick to come up with manyhilarious creations soon afterTOTKfirst launched, but even a year on, striking new ideas are still being spread across the internet.
The open-world design ofTears of the Kingdomallows for a large degree of lateral thinking. This means that although combat can be as simple as acquiring a few weapons and perhaps Fusing them with other materials, more planning can lead to increasingly elaborate and entertaining strategies emerging. Naturally, having more than one playthrough of the game gives perfect motivation to experiment to keep gameplay fresh, although the game itself does provide opportunities to do so (like the many travelingKoroks who often suffer horrible treatmentafter asking Link to help them reach their distant friends).

A Hilarious TOTK Contraption Can Defeat Even A Silver Lynel With Ease
Pummels Enemies With Construct Heads
A new Zonai Device construction demonstrated bycross.xxxon TikTok has a perfectly comedic method of attack. Consisting of an array of 12 Construct Heads stacked in three equal columns, with Zonai Carts providing a base and Stakes being used for stability, this contraption in motion is an incredibly silly sight; the columns rock back and forth in a seemingly precarious manner, strongly resembling wiggling fingers. But on the other hand, they are also incredibly effective, demonstrably able to defeat a Silver Lynel in seconds with a barrage of hits.
Of course, aside from being repositioned through Ultrahand, this build is entirely stationary and so cannot reliably attack a moving opponent that can escape its reach. Link can be seen mitigating this issue in cross.xxx’s video with the use of a Muddle Bud Fused to an arrow shot in mid-air, which stuns a Lynel long enough for the device to begin its work. However, this is clearly a single target device, making it very unsuitable for group engagements where other enemies could attack Link or his contraption. Nevertheless, when properly deployed, this build is fast and brutal.

Although cross.xxx’s version does include a Control Stick, the contraption can be easily replicated without it and be activated by having Link hit it, which would maintain the hero’s own mobility.
Unfortunately, Muddle Buds do not affect major story bosses like Ganondorf, making halting their potentially build-destroying attacks near impossible. Because of this, these enemies will be able to avoid most, or even all, the potential damage that can be inflicted by a device that relies on a stationary target. Nevertheless, constructions such as this new design are still capable of dealing large amounts of damage quickly, making them potent counters to certainField Bosseslike Lynels (Field Bosses with more isolated or inaccessible weak points, like Taluses for example, make it a much less practical option for a quick victory).

This New TOTK Build Takes Clever Advantage Of Construct Heads
The pillars of Construct Heads serve as the basis of this design, becoming a powerful attacking force due to their combined flexibility. A Construct Head will always turn to face enemies, and has both a 360-degree rotation and the ability to look up and down, albeit to a lesser extent. Typically, these properties are used to make contraptions with homing devices, but because of this tilting capability, a stack of five Construct Heads are able to bend with remarkable flexibility by themselves. This then allows them to assault an enemy directly with blunt-force damage.
One Year Later, How Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s Legacy Compares To BOTW’s
It’s been one year since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which was critically praised. Why don’t we talk about it like BotW?
Of course, given the number of impacts that this device inflicts, it is unsurprising that stability is key to its success. As such, Sleds can be used to give the Construct Heads a solid base to attach to, although other flat objects should serve similarly well. However, this will do nothing to affect the potential for recoil, which could push the contraption out of reach of its target. This is where Stakes come in, allowing the contraption to be anchored firmly in place. Again, this makes the build unsuitable against agile opponents, but stunned enemies can be easily approached.
It seems that there is a truly endless list of possibilities inTears of the Kingdom. From thesimple but ever-popular hover biketo the remarkable potential forcrossover builds inTOTK, even a relatively small variety of parts can produce some incredibly effective Ultrahand constructions. While it may not necessarily be the most practical of designs, the sheer hilarity of this build is something that many will doubtlessly be keen to replicate inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and perhaps even improve upon in turn.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the anticipated follow-up to Breath of the Wild, released in 2017. A rare occurrence in Zelda titles, Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel instead of loosely connected. In Tears of the Kingdom, Link will take to the skies and learn about a mysterious kingdom in the clouds.
