The new queen bee of killer dolls is rebooting with a sequel in M3GAN 2.0.
The perfect balance of terror and camp, M3GAN shocked and pleasantly surprised horror fans, surging to a healthy box office return and raving critical reviews – not to mention plenty of viral videos ofthatdance scene.
With such a positive reception, it seemed almost a certainty thatBlumhouse would greenlight a second adventure for M3GAN, especially given the uncertain fate she met in the original movie.

M3GAN 2.0 release date
M3GAN 2.0 will be released in theatres onJune 27, 2025.
The film was initially set for a July 22, 2025 release but was hit withdelays.
Who’s in the cast?
The stars of the original,Allison Williams and Violet McGraw, will both be in M3GAN 2.0, alongside Jenna Davis as the voice of M3GAN.

In addition, screenwriter Akela Cooper will also be returning to write the sequel, as well as director Gerald Johnson.
Is there a M3GAN 2.0 trailer?
The first teaser trailer for M3GAN 2.0 dropped during the 2025 Grammy Awards. While brief, it confirmed that the original M3GAN will be back, albeit with a slightly fresh look and some upgrades.
On the big screen at the 2024 New York Comic Con, the sassy robot showed up invideoform. She told the crowd she’d been “upgraded”, and that she’d see us “nerds in June.”

M3GAN 2.0 will take place two years after the events of the first film. In this time, Gemma has become an advocate for government oversight of A.I and is also a high-profile author. Her niece Cady, now 14-years-old, is a rebelling teenage struggling to handle Gemma’s extensive rules and restrictions.
After discovering that the government has stolen the technology from M3GAN and created their own AI weapon called Amelia, Gemma is forced to resurrect the original robot to face-off against Amelia after it starts refusing to take orders.
Jason Blum, CEO of Blumhouse Productions, took to the stage at CinemaCon in April 2023 to discuss the project, and while he kept quiet about plot details, he does believe M3GAN has a long life ahead of her.
He told attendants that “hopefully we’ll see many M3GANs… to come.”
