Monster Hunter Wilds March 4 update patch notes bring major fixes to Insect Glaive, Lance & more
Monster Hunter Wilds‘ latest update is here, bringing with it fixes to Insect Glaive, Lance, and story progression bugs.
Capcom has released details for Monster Hunter Wilds patch 1.000.04.00, which went live on June 25, 2025. This update is focused on improving the in-game experience, with major fixes to the game-breaking bug that halted story progression as well as some much-needed fixes toInsect Glaive‘s Offset attack and the Lance’s Power Guard.
There are also improvements tothe game’s Mantles, where using one would lead to the activation of Weapon Equipment Skills. The annoying tutorial popup bug that prevented players from accessing certain options in the menu has also been fixed.
Biggest changes
The biggest changes from the Monster Wilds March 4 update are to theInsect Glaive’s Offset attack and Lance’s Powerguard. Previously, there was a bug that caused Hunters to freeze and become unresponsive after they’d used the Glaive’s Descending Slash under certain conditions.
As you can imagine, this led to some incredibly frustrating deaths. Fortunately, this issue has now been resolved, and Glaive users needn’t worry about randomly getting nerfed mid-fight.Lance’s Power Guard effect has also been fixedand will now activate instead of just glowing red.
Game-breaking bugs have also been addressed, andHunters will no longer fall through the mapwhen heading to Azuz during Main Mission: Chapter 2-1 “Toward Fervent Fields.” Lastly, Capcom has also fixed the story progression bug, where an importantNPC sometimes wouldn’t appear during Chapter 5-2.

To see these updates reflected in your game, you must first close Monster Hunter Wilds and apply the update. Once the game has been updated, simply relaunch Wilds and check the title screen to see that patch 1.000.04.00 has been installed.
