Overwatch 2 finally adds long-awaited cosmetic upgrade
Overwatch 2 has just added one exciting change to certain skins, giving them a nice detail that’s previously missing.
Overwatch 2’sSeason 15brings plenty of new cosmetics, ranging from the ones from theBattle Passand even freebies from the Twitch Drops. Not to mention, withloot boxes being back, players have an extra way to earn more skins to add to their collection.
Speaking of cosmetics, however, devs have also included one exciting addition that has been requested for quite a while.
Now, it’s finally possible to hear heroes utter a different ultimate voice line when you equip specific skins, making the experience overall more immersive.
Overwatch 2 skin-specific voice lines have finally been added
As per the new update, custom ultimate voice lines, including the mode-specific and previously unused ones, have finally been enabled for the skins they’re relevant to.
For example, before this season, you’d just hear Mercy say her regular “Heroes never die!” voice line when ulting, even when you equip theVengeance Mercy Mythic skin.

But now, she’d say, “Vengeance never dies!” which is much more fitting, given how the character was first introduced.
This addition doesn’t just include Mythic skins, but also other themed skins as well, including the Greek Gods skins and Lilith Moira.
Regarding this addition, devswrote: “Going into Overwatch 2, we took into account player feedback that skin-specific ultimate lines from enemy heroes created gameplay difficulties for many players.”
They added: “As such, we restricted any custom hostile ultimate VO to special game modes, but we were not able to implement them into the broader game.”

As of now, though, not all characters have gotten their skin-specific ultimate voice lines tweaked. Amaterasu Kiriko, for example, is still using the same voice line as before.
However, developers also mentioned that now that they can have player-specific custom lines played without affecting the line heard by the enemy team, they suggested they’ll have “much more flexibility for changing ultimate voice lines in the future.”
