Spotify is finally coming to EA Sports FC with tests underway
Full Spotify integration is coming toEA Sports FC, allowing players to listen to their own music in-game for the first time.
Over the years, the FIFA and EA Sports FC series has put together plenty oficonic soundtracksfeaturing some of the world’s biggest artists, from older favorites like Blur’s Song #2, to more modern hits like CHIHIRO by Billie Eilish.
But while memorable soundtracks have always been a staple of the series, fans have long requested the ability to listen to their own tunes while on the pitch.
Well, those wishes are set to come true as full Spotify compatibility is in the works.
Full Spotify integration is finally coming to EA FC
In an April 30announcement, Spotify announced the collaboration, with the feature currently being tested in Australia and Saudi Arabia, but it will reportedly be rolled out worldwide eventually.
The feature can be accessed from the main menu if you’re playing in those regions, where you’ll be met with a prompt on the main menu. Simply select it, link your accounts, and pick your own soundtrack.
You can then skip or change the song or podcast using an in-game tab or your mobile phone, so you don’t need to leave the match to switch the tune.
It’s unclear at the moment what the timeline is for Spotify to arrive in other regions, but a leak fromDonk Tradingrevealed that it’s likely to come in EA FC 26.
At the moment, it’s possible to listen to different music in EA FC 25 on console, but this can only be done through Xbox or PlayStation’s Spotify app. So, it often clashes with what’s going on in the menus or on the pitch, meaning the two drown each other out if you don’t mute the in-game soundtrack and tinker with the audio settings.
