The worst Alien movie of all time may be re-released with massive change

Fans may finally get to see the best possible version of Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, thanks to a discovery by a crew member.

Writer Liam O’Donnell revealed on his X account that he had found a selection of reference images fromAliens vs. Predator: Requiem. O’Donnell was a creative consultant for the film’s VFX company.

The images are a landmark find for the film. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is often regarded as the worst entry of either franchise, focusing on a seasoned Predator coming to Earth to stop a Xenomorph/Predator hybrid.

However, the plot is not the only thing that holds the movie back. The film is infamously so dark that it’s difficult to see anything on the screen at any time. With the discovery of these images, fans can finally see what the film was supposed to look like, including a truly phenomenalPredator design.

But there’s more good news for Alien fans. In the days since O’Donnell shared the reference images, he’s revealed he contacted Daniel Pearl, the cinematographer who worked on AVP:R, who is going to attempt to regrade the film.

Pearl is reportedly the cause for the original dark cut of AVP:R, with stories claiming he didn’t like how visible theXenomorphsandPredatorswere in previous films. Unfortunately, Requiem went too far, resulting in a muddy, overly dark film.

It remains to be seen if regrading the movie will fix its biggest problems, though O’Donnell hasassured fansthat if Fox/Disney wanted to and still have the materials, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is “very fixable.”
