On this fine Monday morning, it is time for anotherConnectionspuzzle and another chance to show off your word-connecting skills to all your friends. In order for that to happen you might need a few hints, although today’s puzzle is not as tricky as others have been lately. You will want to steer clear of a few red herrings, and we are here to help you determine what those are.
If you enjoyConnections, you might also like theNYT puzzler calledWordle. It has a similar mechanic of figuring out the connections between the pieces, but in this case it is letters and you have todeduce where they belong in a five-letter word. This can prove to be a serious, but quite fun, challenge for the brain to master.

10 Best Connections Tips, Tricks, & Strategies
Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.
Today’s Connections Category Hints
JUNE 24 #378
For those who aspire to become Michelin-star chefs, today’s puzzle might be a little easier for you. That being said, there is one big red herring in a later category that could trip even you up, but knowing the parameters of the categories could help you avoid this pitfall altogether and figure out what is going on in this puzzle.
RED ___

SENSITIVE
TENDER
BARE was a real red herring that would belong in this category if not for the one it actually belongs in. There is little reason not to associate BARE with RAW or TENDER, but in this case, it was not to be. There is a better home for it later, and recognizing that will get you part of the way toward putting together these connections.
SIDE
STARTER
These all made the most sense, as it was clearer to us that they were part of a meal but without a lot of crossover with other categories. The only real red herring was MOUSSE, which could fit in well with DESSERT, but as there were really no other words with a specific dessert association, it made sense to keep these together. Of course, it also got us thinking really, really hard about dessert.
8 Vertex Strategies To Quickly Solve The Picture
The New York Times Vertex game asks you to form a picture by connecting dots, but you have to understand the image to solve this puzzle quickly.
MOUSSE
NEW
This being the category where BARE and MOUSSE do belong, it is helpful to understand why they belong here. Homophones are words that sound like another one. In this case, these words all sound like a word that has an animal associated with it. These words may not have any animal associations at all, but BARE and BEAR are at least supposed to sound exactly the same in practice.
MEAT
TAPE
Now, MEAT could have gone with MOUSSE and made a food-specific category, but in this case, there were no other words present to fit that same idea. RAW and TENDER are often associated with MEAT, but there is nothing else to lead you in that direction. This was a tricky one, but hopefully, you had all the other categories wrapped up by the time you got to this one.
