Summary
TheMarvel Cinematic Universehas plenty of exciting releases set to arrive in 2025, but between animated and live-action series, my most anticipated 2025 MCU TV show isDaredevil: Born Again. When Charlie Cox appeared on the big screen for a quick cameo in 2021’sSpider-Man: No Way Home, it felt like a dream come true. Not only was it exciting for the Marvel Comics fan in me to finally see Daredevil and Spider-Man interact in a movie, but as a major fan of Cox’s work on thethree seasons of Netflix’sDaredevil, his return was a major event.
Since then,Daredevil has slowly started to become an overarching player in the MCU’s street-level corner, something Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made clear when he said Daredevil and Spider-Man would be the faces of the street-level MCU. After a few supporting roles and cameos in other characters' projects, Cox will finally leadDaredevil: Born Again’s star-studded ensemblein his first solo series for Marvel Studios. The March 2025 release ofDaredevil: Born Againcan’t come soon enough for me, as it signals the return of Marvel’s best TV series.

Daredevil Born Again: Everything You Need To Know
After being teased in MCU films and television shows, Matt Murdock returned to the screen for a Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again.
Netflix’s Daredevil Is The Best Live-Action Marvel Series
And It Is Not Really Close
Cox’s return as the lead ofDaredevil: Born Againis exciting because of just how good his prior lead role was. I can confidently say that Netflix’sDaredevilis the best live-action series out of every Marvel show. Yes, while Marvel Studios has had some amazing hits inWandaVisionandLoki, I don’t think either show is in the same league asDaredevil. The reason for that isCox’s first Daredevil series was pretty much the perfect adaptation for one of Marvel’s best charactersfrom the comics, feeling unique when compared to most Marvel content.

Daredevil Season 2 - Elektra Arc
Cox was extremely charismatic as Matt Murdock, nailing the character’s moments of levity and inner turmoil, as well as making courthouse scenes as intense as fight sequences as Daredevil. And speaking of those fights,Netflix’sDaredevilis simply unmatched when it comes to stunts in Marvel TV shows. You could feel the weight of every punch thrown onscreen, with the series' bloody action making it distinct from the MCU fare. With one of the best live-action villains in all superhero adaptations in Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk and a strong supporting cast, Netflix’sDaredevilis simply unmatched in quality and vision.
10 Superpowers Daredevil Still Hasn’t Used After 9 Years In The MCU
Charlie Cox has portrayed Matt Murdock’s Daredevil in live-action since 2015, but hasn’t used all of his Marvel Comics counterpart’s abilities.
The Creative Overhaul Of Daredevil: Born Again Is Exactly What I Wanted To See
Marvel Has Understood The Task At Hand
A lot of fans were worried aboutDaredevil: Born Again, myself included, as Marvel Studios initially had a very different vision for what the show should be. BeforeDaredevil: Born Again’s major creative overhaul, it was reported thatthe MCU series would not have Cox suit up as Daredevil until episode 4— season 1 will have 9 episodes — and key NetflixDaredevilcharacters Foggy Nelson and Karen Page were nowhere to be seen. Adding to that,Daredevil: Born Againwould have been more in the vein of a legal procedural than the dark, action-heavy original series — a baffling choice.
NowDaredevil: Born Againseems to be what I hoped for, a continuation of sorts of the original series with a fresh Marvel Studios perspective.

Thankfully, Marvel realized its mistake. After its major creative overhaul, part of a larger MCU restructuring of Disney+,Daredevil: Born Againis shaping up to be exactly the TV show I wanted to watch when the series was first announced. The Punisherwriter Dario Scardapane is now the showrunner of the series, withDaredevil: Born Againseeing the return of Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Bullseye, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and more NetflixDaredevilcharacters and stars. NowDaredevil: Born Againseems to be what I hoped for, a continuation of sorts of the original series with a fresh Marvel Studios perspective.

Daredevil: Born Again Can Set Up The Next Major Street-Level Event In The MCU
Devil’s Reign Is Seemingly On The Way
One of the reasons I’m most excited aboutDaredevil: Born Againis the fact that it could set up a major MCU street-level event with Cox’s Daredevil and D’Onofrio’s Kingpin as its leads. Marvel Studios tried to delve into the Netflix Marvel territory by making Disney+‘sEchothe studio’s first TV-MA series. D’Onofrio shined as Wilson Fisk there, in a role I felt was much more in line with the originalDaredevilthan his turn inHawkeye.Echo’s endingrevealed that MCU rumors were right, andFisk is indeed running for Mayor of New York City inDaredevil: Born Again.
10 Street-Level Heroes We Want To See Most In Daredevil: Born Again, Ranked
Daredevil: Born Again is bringing back The Defenders Saga characters, and the show is perfect to include Netflix & Marvel Studios street-level heroes.
In Marvel Comics, that connects withthe Devil’s Reign event, which saw Kingpin — as NYC’s mayor — outlaw vigilanteslike Daredevil, the Punisher, and Spider-Man. It has been rumored for some time that event could play out in Tom Holland’sSpider-Man 4, with Daredevil and Spider-Man teaming up against Kingpin. I would love for that to happen, and watching Fisk’s master plan for his role as mayor unfold inDaredevil: Born Againwill be a treat. After years away, Cox deserves to be front and center in the MCU, and I can’t wait to see that start withDaredevil: Born Again.
